F.A.Q.

The Basics

  • What is boudoir photography?

Boudoir means an intimate space, like your bedroom or dressing room. Boudoir photography showcases you beautifully in this light. My boudoir photography portrays the essence of you, the beauty of your womanhood, and all that you empower – because every woman has a right to feel beautiful and feminine.

  • What is a “Boudoir Marathon”?

A boudoir marathon is a way to purchase boudoir photography at a lower cost. Several shoots are scheduled in one location, on one day so I can pass on savings to you. Your shoot time is shorter than a regular boudoir shoot and you don’t get to choose your location. I am able to offer these sessions at a reduced rate because I’m booking several in one day. Of course it’s not quite the same as a regular boudoir shoot but it’s pretty and you still get to feel awesome.

  • What is included in the Boudoir Marathon Fee?

The Boudoir Marathon includes 60 minutes of shooting time with me, someone to do your hair and makeup, 20 portraits from which to choose and order, and your 2 favourite portraits in a signature 8×10 folio. Should you want more you can upgrade and purchase other things at that time.

  • Where is your studio?

To keep the experience unique to you, we currently offer shoots in many different locations and we choose based upon your individual needs.

  • Do I get the digital images of my photos?

It depends on what you want. A couple of weeks after the shoot there will be a purchasing session. Printed products as well as digital images are both options when purchasing your favourite images. With some of our annual marathons there may be product or images included but you will need to check the promotion at that time.

  • I want to have these portraits for a special occasion, How far in advance do I need to book my shoot?

I recommend you do the shoot 8 (minimum) weeks before you need your final product.

  • Wow I need it sooner then that, is it to late?

Give me a call and I will see what I can do.

  • Will you post my photos online?

No. The only way we can use your photos is if you sign a model release. This is completely optional and if you don’t want to sign it, the only ones who will see them are the people you show them to.

The Shoot:

  • I have never done this before, what if I don’t know what to do during the shoot?

No worries! Most women have never done this before. I will help you pick out an outfit and our hair and makeup team will create a special look just for you. During the shoot I will pose you from top to bottom.

  • What should I wear?

Wear whatever makes you comfortable. I know that some may be a bit more modest than others. That is no problem at all. Feel free to wear a cute bra and panty set under your love’s button up shirt. A little more daring? Wear a nice little teddy, a hot bra and panty set, some thigh highs with a garter belt, or even that cheerleader’s outfit you have hidden away. Don’t worry…I won’t tell. But really, wear whatever makes you feel good. It might even be a business suit. I can help you make anything sexy! If you feel good, then you’ll look good and love your photos. If you have ideas and want some help then just let me know. I can point you in the right direction.

  • How many outfits do I get to wear?

Marathon spots are 60 minutes each. This will most likely cover 2 outfits, but if you relax really quickly and can change fast, then you may be able to do more. The key here is that you’ll have 60 minutes to use as you wish with whatever outfits we can fit in that time frame. Our Deluxe or standard sessions could run longer.

  • Do I have to bare all?

No. You can wear as much or as little as you want. You can wear a tank top and jeans if you want. The goal is to make you sexy, not naked. First and foremost, I want you to be comfortable.

  • What will this be like?

It will be tons of fun of course! I must say that every boudoir client has said that this experience was more fun than they’d ever expected. You can expect to show up about an hour and a half before your shoot time for your hair and makeup. I’ll also have some refreshments for you. You still have clothes on though so don’t worry about anyone seeing you in your skivvies. After hair and makeup we will start the shoot. You will have a private area where you can change and get ready. I know you’ll probably be a little nervous at first, but that’s okay. You’ll warm up and I’ll help you look fabulous.

  • Will anyone be in the room with us?

Yes. During the shoot there will be a female assistant (usually my makeup artist) and this is not optional. As you will quickly find out, we are both thoroughly professional and extremely respectful of boundaries.  If you would feel more comfortable with a friend on hand as well then that’s fine as long as they are POSITIVE, but you’ll probably be able to relax more with just the two of us.
